About Rabbi Naomi

For thirty years Rabbi Naomi has served two congregations on the Redwood Coast of rural northern California.  A prolific songwriter, Rabbi Naomi’s original compositions are performed by her synagogue choir and soloists.  In the 1990s she organized the Redwood Rabbis to draw attention to the urgent need for protection and restoration of the forest ecosystem. With her son Berel she performs The Angel’s Wings: Music & Tales for the Soul, an original storytelling performance based on her mystical tales. Rabbi Naomi has been honored as a Culture Bearer by the Alliance for Traditional Arts in California, which has provided seed money for recordings of her stories currently in production. Chanukah Anew is part of the Rabbi Naomi Legacy Project, an effort to record and disseminate Rabbi Naomi’s music, stories and teaching.
